Candidates to religious life and priesthood
in the Congregation of Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette desire to
serve God and people in the Church and to respond to the call of Our Lady
of La Salette "Now my children You will make this known to all
my people". For the best possible preparation, they share in
the formation process of human, spiritual, pastoral and intellectual grows.
This process begins with postulancy which lasts one
year. During this time candidates have a chance to learn more about the
congregation and see if they are really invited to engage with the religious
life.
The next step is noviciat. During the next twelve months
candidates deepen their personal relatinship with Jesus Christ and his
Mother. They try to enter deeply into spiriuality of the Congregation.
At the end of noviciat they make their first profession by taking vows
of poverty, chastity and obediance. After 4 years they make perpetual
vows( for the whole life). Those who made first profession begin academic
studies of philosophy and theology. After perpetual profesion the candidaties
to priesthood are ordained; first to diaconate and next to priestchood.
La Salette Brothers
The La Salette Seminary in Krakow is also a place for
formation of La Salette Brothers. These are not ordaind to pristhood.
Their formation consists of postulancy, noviciat and "juniorat"
( time between the first and perpetual profesion). They help by doing
difrent jobs according to their natural talents and quolifications in
our shrine, parishes and publishing house. Some of them work for forign
missions.
Letter to those who are interestet in joining our Congregation
"If anyone of you dear girls and boys fills that the Lord is calling him, let him be not overwhelmed by doubts or anxieties. Let him courageously say YES without any reservation"
John Paul II
Dear Friend
Vocation to priesthood and religious life is a great
gift given by God to some of his people. Through their faithful ministry
God changes the image of the earth. Our congregation continues to make
known the good news shared by the Mother of God at La Salette. Mary gave
our world a message of reconciliation, calling us to change our lives
and to invite all people to experience the grace of Jesus' death and resurrection.
Have you thought about the possibility of being part
of a religious community, and serving God as a priest or brother?
Are you interested in living a life of witness to values
that come from the gospel of Jesus Christ?
Maybe God is calling you to be a La Salette.
